Sleeman Introduces Sleeman India Pale Ale

GUELPH, ONTARIO - Sleeman Breweries Ltd. today announced the launch of Sleeman India Pale Ale, the second in a series of unique style brews called John Sleeman Presents. Sleeman has also answered a call from consumers by bringing back the very successful Sleeman Fine Porter, the first in the series that was launched this time last year.

I have sampled the Sleeman IPA and found that it was pretty mild to be called a true IPA.
While it did have some hoppiness in the nose, this did not come through in the taste.
I suspect the IBU's are fairly low, probably around 30.
Of course, I'm a hop-head and expect IBU's to be above 55 for a real IPA.
Still, it was a drinkable ale.

I tried the Sleeman India Pale Ale and was really impressed. Completely different from the other Sleeman products, but maintains the premium quality. Definitely worth trying for the holidays...
