Sam Adams Debuts $100 Extreme Beer

If you think the price of gas has been going up lately, check out the price tag of this new beer. It's called Utopias 2005 and is 50 proof. That's 25 percent alcohol. It's non-carbonated and the folks at Sam Adams say it's an after-dinner drink to be savored (only 2 ounces is the recommended serving). Only eight-thousand bottles of this brew have been made.

The asking price is $100 U.S. per bottle. But depending on where you live, you may not be able to buy it. You can not purchase this new beer in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, and West Virginia.

The beer also holds the Guinness World Record for The Strongest Commercially Available Beer.
