Lakeport Brewing is breaking into the bar scene by selling its beer to bars and restaurants at the lowest price permittedy by law, $19.37 (plus deposit of course). Sleeman Breweries recently blamed the price war for helping to put a dent in its profits.
Aside from Lakeport, other brands in the discount category (Lakeshore, Laker, and Steelback) now account for almost a third of Ontario take-home sales.
