Carribean Beer tasting!

As part of Scott and Sarah's Honeymoon Cruise, Scott was tasked with finding all the local Caribbean beers he could find.
Apparently, this was a difficult thing to do, as he was able to find only 7 beers. (pictured here)
We also threw in a couple of other beers of interest.
These were: the new Sleeman IPA, a Heritage Blackcurrant rye beer and a De Koninck Tripel.

There were 4 of us sampling and these are our comments:

Kalik Light- a very drinkable beer for a day at the beach.
Kalik- surprisingly, not as tasty as their light beer.
Presidente- another "beach" beer
Foxy's- non-descript ( thumbs down from Scott)
Blackbeard Ale- a "British" taste according to Neil
Dragon Stout- consensus is "excellent" - thumbs up
Royal Extra Stout- we all rated it slightly below Dragon Stout

Sleeman IPA- "Ain't no Keith's!" according to Scott - very low in IBU's
Blackcurrant Rye- very tasty- Sarah gave it a "2 thumbs up!"
De Koninck Tripel- fruity nose and "better than their lager"

Admittedly, not a very scientific review, but it did make for a pleasant afternoon of tasting and conversation.

Hey Richard,

Thanks for the great post. It was a fun afternoon indeed. I'll be sure to hunt down even more on my next cruise. :)

Would you care to divulge where you were able to purchase the Royal Extra Stout? I tried it once at Vineyards in Ottawa but, alas, was unable to locate it for purchase anywhere.

Cheers!
