Heritage Brewing Ltd. of Carleton Place, Ontario recently introduced their Blackcurrant Rye beer at the Ottawa Wine and Food show.
I had an opportunity to sample this beer on a recent visit to the brewery.
I must admit that I'm not a fan of flavoured beers, but this one was delicious! It was slightly sweet with blackcurrant taste and just a hint of rye. Easy drinking!
Brewmaster and partner, Ron Moir explained that there was about 10% rye grain in the brew.
The beer is available in 650 ml bottles at the brewery but quantities are limited.
